CORA Wednesday Night Race

It is always a treat to go sailing on a Wednesday Night in Charleston Harbor for CORA's Summer Series. Last week I was attending a Post Production class at the Charleston Center for Photography and was going to be late for the start. Since I was not going to make it to the boat on time, I decided to head to Carolina Yacht Club's dock (where CORA Race Committee runs the races) and take pictures of the boats starting and finishing. It was a beautiful night on Charleston Harbor and a great way to unwind from the class. View images from last week's Wednesday Night Race at http://www.kjpphotography.net/.
Hope you enjoy and hope to see you on the water again soon!

Truck Series History

Well - Since the first post about this truck and church I have been confronted with questions about the history of the building. I was embarrassed to say I had not taken the time to do my research. That is no longer the case. After a couple of calls to the surrounding towns, I was able to get in touch with the owner of the building, Mr. Miller. Mr. Miller just so happens to be a town councilman and was very knowledgeable about the history of the building and very willing to share that knowledge with me.

The house, originally located in the center of town, is considered to be one of the oldest buildings in town. The house once served as a country store during the pre 1930's. Today, the house sits just outside of town and serves as a distribution center for the Christ Central Institute where the group provides fresh local produce to the hungry. The group intends to restore the 1949 Ford Truck and use it to deliver produce to the hungry.

That's not all! Mr. Miller has invited me to visit the two other houses he owns in town and would like me to photograph the inside of the church.

More photos from this series to come - Stay tuned!

We spotted this site on the way to a regatta in Augusta. The truck is sitting in front of an old house that was converted into a church - It looked like a scene straight out of a movie. I immediately grabbed my notepad and penciled in the location so we could find it on our way back. I have to thank my husband Dan and our friend Gus for waking me up on the way back.

The collage is printed and looks great. Thanks to my sister's suggestion I am also having the collage printed on canvas - Can't wait to see how they turn out!

Stay tuned for more of the series!
